Past Updates

Wednesday, April 25, 2007
I updated the Music page and added a cleaner version of the end theme as well as the updated beginning theme from 1998.

Nicktoons Network has cut back Hey Arnold's air time to weekdays at 11am.

The videos on the Videos page no longer work, and will probably stay down until further notice. I will likely replace it with a page that has some information on the clay shorts and other Arnold-related history.

If you're wondering what happened, Viacom (which owns the rights to Hey Arnold) forced Youtube.com to take down a ton of HA! videos, including all of mine. To add insult to injury, Youtube also disabled my account. Filefront did the same not too long ago, so you can no longer download the videos either.

The Youtube revolution was a fun ride while it lasted, but if Viacom doesn't want these videos online, there's nothing I can do about it. (..Except infringe on their copyright by reuploading them, but they would just get removed again. In any case I won't link to any videos on this site any longer, since I'd rather not get the whole thing shut down.) Maybe, just maybe, Viacom's recent copyright enforcement means they have some interest in putting the series on DVD. We can only hope.

If you're looking for a transcript of the October chat with Craig Bartlett, you can find an unedited Microsoft Word log here (courtesy Arnold's Room), or an edited PDF log here (courtesy heyarnold.twotoasts.de).

I've made a few updates to the website. The links page has been revamped to include site descriptions and is divided into "active sites" and "retired sites." The comics page now opens each comic in a new window, with next and previous buttons so you can view them more like a slide show. I also put the Charlie Brown comic there, where it should have been in the first place.

I also put up a new chat page, for those interested in participating in the chat room.

FYI, Youtube has been coming down hard on copyright violations recently, and most of the Hey Arnold! episodes that were once on their website are no longer available. You'll have to find some other way to watch the series.

The good news for those of you in the U.S. is that Thanksgiving is coming, and that means Nickelodeon has to acknowledge Hey Arnold's existence and air the Thanksgiving episode. It airs November 22nd at 7:30am EST/PST.

A chat room for Hey Arnold! fans has been created. You can access the new chat on this page (make sure your Java is updated!), or you can point your favorite IRC client to #arnoldsroom on chat.freenode.net. Nancy from Heyarnold.twotoasts.de has created a helpful guide to joining the chat.

You can drop in any time, but chats are currently scheduled for the last Saturday of every month. Our next chat is November 25th.

Just wanted to remind everyone of the upcoming chat with Craig Bartlett and Jim Lang. It's happening this Saturday, October 7th at 8pm Eastern time. You'll have to join the Arnold's Room MSN Group to participate in the chat room. Details about the chat can be found here.

I fixed the Habanera link on the Music page. Songs will now open in a new smaller window (if you have Javascript enabled).

A new Hey Arnold! site has been added to the links page:

A new Hey Arnold! website has been added to the Links page and it's available in both English and German -- heyarnold.twotoasts.de.

Other recently added Hey Arnold! sites:
Arnold VRS. Brainy
Heyarnold.prv.pl (Polish)
Arnold and Helga - Feelings Revealed

I'm going to start announcing new links in my updates, as well as keeping an archive of older updates.

Great news for those in the U.S. and Canada who want to watch episodes of Hey Arnold! - both Nickelodeon and YTV are airing the show again. HA! now airs on Nick every Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm EST. See Don Del Grande's site for the episode schedule.

If you can't watch the show on TV, you can watch some episodes online at YouTube, uploaded by user cecilehelga. Episodes are divided into two or three parts due to time limits.

And now for updates to this website:

The music page now has some more songs from What's Opera, Arnold?. Thanks to gemkazoni at Livejournal for recording these.

The voice artists page was in dire need of updating, so I've edited many of the summaries, added a few more artists to the list (Nika Futterman, Alex Linz, Jordan Warkol, Rick Corso, and David Wohl), gave links to everyone's IMDb profiles, and included a picture of the character next to the voice artist's photo. It's not 100% completed but it's a lot nicer than before.

I will probably move the fan art and image galleries to a place like Photobucket or Image Shack, as Bravenet's galleries are full of restrictions and annoying ads.

Geraldfield.com may be making a comeback in the near future as a fansite directory. I'm not sure when I can make that happen though, as the domain's status is still listed as "redemption period", meaning I can't buy it back yet.
